How We started
Kids’ Therapy Shop was founded by Maureen Billig an occupational therapist with over 15 years of professional experience and over 23 years of parenting experience to 6 children. Maureen first entertained the idea of starting a private therapy practice in 2015. After a couple years of pursuing other therapy opportunities Kids’ Therapy Shop officially opened its doors in September 2018. We believe that every child is unique and has a pure potential to learn, grow and succeed. Our approach is client centered and based on the research that supports the notion that children learn best when engaged in play and having fun. Kids’ Therapy Shop is unique in that the therapy is offered in a clinical setting and/or brought to your child in their naturalistic environment.
Meet The Therapist
Maureen is a mother of six and graduated summa cum laude from Creighton University in December 1991 with a bachelor of science in occupational therapy. She has several years of experience working exclusively in the field of pediatrics. Her developmental and multi-sensory based approach is client centered to empower the child to reach his/her full potential. She has worked with children ages ranging from 6 months to 21 years with a variety of diagnoses including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, sensory processing disorder, learning disabilities and more. She has provided services in various settings including a hospital, day treatment center, schools, daycares and homes. Maureen is passionate about her job and strongly believes that kids learn best through play.
